Academic Requirements
Hilltop Academy
- Students will be assigned to a computer and desk during the school day.
- Students will be assigned classes matching their personal graduation plan using the Edgenuity online computer program.
- When students complete their course requirement, students shall receive a grade of 80 for each course completed. Credit for the course will be placed on the student’s transcript with an indication that it is for the Edgenuity Program.
Processes & Procedures
- Students must have a teacher sign-off on required completed work for the day before leaving the building.
2. Students may work on and complete only one course at a time before moving on to the next.
3. All courses will have one unit open at a time.
4. Students will work only on lessons and tests available until all assignments have been completed.
5. Within each course and unit, students will:

Work the lesson from top to bottom.

Take notes for reference to use on the unit and mastery test—strongly recommended.

Unit test will be made available after completing the lesson for each unit.

Final exam will be made available after completing all lessons for the course.

Complete test on own – use notes – no help from teacher allowed during finals.
6. Teacher Assistance:
- During lessons and practices sessions, the teacher can help with clarification on confusing topics and demonstrate problem solving techniques.
- Notes taken by students are evidence that they are following and working the lessons.
- During testing, the teacher will be unable to answer questions. However, students may use all of their notes and examples during a test.
7. Note Taking
- Students cannot use notes from another student.
- No internet access will be allowed.
- No printing out screen images as notes.
- No electronic storage devices for notes (except for using screen copy and paste to word document).
- Students may use available textbooks.
8. Grading Tests, If test is not passed, student will:
- Ask teacher to clear test and take a re-take.
- Have to redo the lesson again.
- If test is passed, the student will move on to the next group of lessons.
9. Course Completion
- Students must satisfy 100% completion rate with subject and content.
- A grade of (80) will be awarded to student transcript to mark completion (not included in GPA).
- Students may move on to the next course requirement listed on their graduation requirement.
DAEP
- Students will be assigned to a computer and desk during the school day.
- Students will be assigned classes matching their class schedule on their home campus using the Edgenuity online computer program.
- Students are required to take one page of hand-written notes per class per day.

60% of the grade is from assignments that are completed in the Edgenuity system.

40% of the grade is from notes that are taken from the information provided by Edgenuity

Weekly progress reports showing notes grades and Edgenuity grades will be distributed to parents and scholars.
Things to Remember
- Your grades from STRIVE are used by the home campus to determine your six weeks avg. and/or semester credit if it applies.
- Grades provided by STRIVE will be combined with those earned at your home campus on a basis determined by teachers.
- Only your home campus can determine credit.
- If you finish a whole semester of class on Edgenuity at STRIVE, you will not automatically receive credit for that class, only a grade that is sent back to the home campus.
