TRANSPORTATION
Cedar Hill ISD does not provide school bus transportation to S.T.R.I.V.E. Academy. Students and their parents are responsible for their transportation to and from school each day. When Hilltop students arrive early, they are expected to enter the building. When school is dismissed at 12:00 pm, 3pm, and 4:00 pm, all students are expected to leave the campus immediately (within 10 minutes of dismissal). Failure to leave the campus could result in a disciplinary action. Students are not allowed to leave campus in another’s student vehicle unless written or verbal permission is granted by a parent or guardian on file.
Vehicles parked on school property are under the jurisdiction of the school. School officials may search any vehicle any time there is reasonable cause to do so, with or without the presence of the student. A student has full responsibility for the security of his or her vehicle and must make certain that it is locked and that the keys are not given to others.
ATTENDANCE
Students attending the S.T.R.I.V.E. Academy are mandated to attend school every day. Because time is limited, it is critical that students stay on task and complete lessons so that graduation requirements can be met. Students have the option of driving their vehicles or having parents drop them off and pick them up.
If a student leaves without permission prior to completion of course work, an unexcused absence will be earned and will be applied towards truancy or removal from the S.T.R.I.V.E. Program.
It is the responsibility of the parents /guardians to notify the attendance office at (972) 293-4504 before 7:30 a.m. morning session or 12:00 p.m. for afternoon session if their child will be absent from school. Upon returning, students must have a note signed by a parent. If the absence was due to a medical appointment, the student must have the original note signed by the attending physician.
